Warframe Saint Of Altra Update Adds New Warframe Gauss, A Playable Guitar And More

Gotta go fast

A new content update is coming to Warframe to PC this week. Called the Saint Of Altra, this mainline update contains various new additions to the free-to-play looter-shooter.

The biggest new addition here is the new warframe, Gauss. Gauss is built for speed, with his toolkit based around the whole idea. The first ability, Mach Rush, gets Gauss running really, really fast- as fast as a K-Drive hoverboard and can go on water. While on Mach Rush, Gauss can ram into enemies causing direct damage and charge his battery- his unique meter- or run into solid objects and create a shockwave instead.

The second ability, Kinetic Plating, has Gauss raise armour based on the current battery charge. Kinetic damage received are partially converted into energy so you can use more abilities. It also stops Gauss from knockdowns. Thermal Sunder absorbs kinetic energy, charges the battery and deal cold damage. But hold the button to reverse the effect- drain battery for heat damage.

Gauss’ fourth ability, Redline, pushes his battery limit higher making other abilities, fire rate, attack speed, reload speed and holster rate faster and stronger. Redline ends with an electrical area of effect blast.

Gauss is now the de-facto speed warframe, replacing Volt which used to hold that position due to one of his ability is about increasing moving speed. Gauss comes with two signature weapon: The Acceltra primary weapon and Akarius secondary twin-pistols.

Aside from Gauss, the Disruption mode debuted in the Jovian Concord update now has more nodes spread around the star chart. Some of these will have Grineer Ghouls instead of the new Amalgam enemies.

Also, the update adds a playable Shazwin, a musical instrument that’s basically a guitar. Previously just a decoration item for you orbiter, now you can go play it and rock a song or two. The look link and mod link quality of life feature are also coming in this update, as well as increase slots for Riven mods (from 90 to 120) and Infested-themed decors for dojos.

The Saint Of Altra update will hit PC first sometime this week, with consoles to receive it soon after.
