If Destiny’s moon is haunted, looks like Warframe’s moon is infested.
TennoCon 2020, the annual convention for all things Warframe, has just concluded. This time done entirely in digital form thanks to the global pandemic that’s still ongoing. The reveal for this year is for the upcoming new update, titled Heart Of Deimos.
Last year, we expected to see a different update, the Kuvri Paradox, which was going to add another open-world map. That one is delayed to 2021. But we’re still getting another open-world map, soon.
If Plains Of Eidolon on Earth has you fight the Grineer faction and Fortuna on Venus has the Corpus, this update takes players to Deimos, Mars’ moon, now entirely populated with the Infested faction.
That means expect organic body horror. Or beauty, depending on your preference.
The open world of Deimos features new Infested enemy types, as well as an underground cave network to explore. You’ll also meet the Enrati, the inhabitants of Deimos that serves as your guide here.
The Heart Of Deimos update will also arrive with Xaku, i.e. “the broken frame” designed with input from the Warframe community.
Also, the update finally expands on the Helminth Chrysalis, now as a full system. Notice the weird growth your warframes can get on the neck and that one room inside your ship with the appendages that can remove it? Now you can feed it with resources to unlock new abilities you can have on any warframe.
Even crazier, you can opt to sacrifice a warframe. Feed it to the Helminth Crhysalis and you can get one ability from the sacrificed warframe and give it to another warframe.
This should open up possibilities for more warframe builds, and a reason to farm duplicate frames other than selling them off for credits.
You can catch the gameplay demo, running for around 30 minutes, revealed at TennoCon 2020 here. If you haven’t finished The Second Dream quest yet, there’s major spoilers at that 20-minute mark, so be warned:
The Heart Of Deimos update will arrive to Warframe on August 25 on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
