Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Is A Narrative RPG That Sounds A Lot Like Detroit: Become Human

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is the next game from the developers of narrative RPG The Council, Big Bad Wolf. This is not to be confused with Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, though it is set in the same Vampire: The Masquerade universe.

In Swansong, a new prince has arrived in Boston to take charge of the Camarilla- the major vampire sect that’s enforcing the Masquerade. The game will begin in a bloody shootout, as seen in this new trailer debuted at Nacon Connect.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong will have you play three different characters, with different perspectives of the world and different skillsets. And as the three, you will unpiece together the events that started with this shootout. The narrative will have you make difficult choices- with a promise of multiple endings.

This sounds a lot like the gameplay setup of Detroit: Become Human. And this game is also coming from a French studio. Let’s just hope the story isn’t going to be like Detroit.

Unlike Detroit, Swansong is an RPG, where you get to roleplay your characters like a pen-and-paper adventure would. At the start of the game, you have to create your character sheet for all three of them, which sounds neat. If The Council is of any indication, this should be a nice twist to your usual narrative adventure game.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong will be released in 2021 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
