Calling all fast drivers of Gran Turismo Sport in Malaysia, here’s a competition for you. Toyota Malaysia is organising the Toyota Velocity Esports Championship at Sunway Pyramid from September 21st to 23rd.
There’s a RM60,000 total prize pool up for grabs, the winner taking home RM20,000. The whole competition will be using Gran Turismo Sport, with the Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept Gr.3 as the only car choice (no surprises there) and Suzuka as the only circuit in play.
Those that wish to participate can go to register here to book a slot for the time trials qualifying stage, to be held for two days.
The top 20 players with the fastest times will move on to the final day where two races will happen. The players will be divided into two groups with the top 5 advancing to the final race. The first race is six laps around Suzuka while the finals will be a 10 lap race, each having a qualifying session and one mandatory pit stop.
The exact race and qualifying settings, are included in the format and rules. May the fastest driver win!
