Quantic Dream’s games are not the only ones that are being released on PC as Epic Games Store limited-time exclusives.
At the GDC 2019 Unreal keynote, Epic revealed more games are coming to their PC digital games store first.
The big one is The Outer Worlds, the highly anticipated western RPG by Obsidian. Epic has partnered with Private Division to bring The Outer Worlds and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey to Epic Games Store first.
Interestingly, PC Gamer reported that The Outer Worlds will also be available on Windows Store on launch, but not other launchers like Steam. This might be something to do with Obsidian now residing under the Xbox Games Studio banner.
Control, Remedy’s new supernatural shooter coming this summer, will also launch on PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive.
Following the release of The Division 2, Ubisoft is committed to releasing more games on the store. Other games just announced to be on the store includes The Sinking City (which was recently delayed and now releasing in June), Afterparty and Industries Of Titan.
Also, you can now buy these exclusives through Humble Bundle.
That’s a big swoop of Epic Games Store exclusives as the makers of Fortnite tries to build a big stock of games and entice PC players, to use their store.
Epic Games Store certainly is a better deal for the publishers and developers, offering more compensation than Steam. But from the user side, it’s not offering enough features they wanted from a digital distributor.
