Ubisoft Ivory Tower has outlined some upcoming game changes when Season 2 arrives to The Crew Motorfest on December 6. The open world racing game is focusing on quality-of-life improvements after listening to feedback from players.
When Season 2 is out, you can turn off ghost cars. Technically called Replayers, these are silhouettes of cars driving on Honolulu to give the feeling that the open world is alive, but they won’t be any of any hindrance as there’s no collision model. That said, their presence can still be distracting, the gif image on the official post shows a racing car driving on the track, only for a pack of ghost cars appear from the opposite direction. Which can be annoying.
Speaking of annoying, there’s options to limit CARA, the talking driving guide and GPS, so she talks less, or not talk at all.
Season 2 will also add the ability to carry over all the part loadout you have to another vehicle in the same category. Parts have RPG-style attributes which you want to keep equipping so this is a new addition.
There will also be a slight change to the livery reporting system, in that there’s a confirmation pop-up this time. The rewards screen at the end of a race is made simpler and faster.
You can read the full post here, which also confirmed that online free roam will not support cross-play, and the development team are not actively working on this feature. Cross-play is enabled on other multiplayer events like Grand Race.
The Crew Motorfest is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review of the game here.
