Last year, Sega and AirAsia announced a partnership which sees two AirAsia aeroplanes decked out in Sonic The Hedgehog and Persona 5-themed livery and decals.

This year, the AirAsia X Airbus A330 (tail number: 9M XXU) aircraft, the one with the Sonic livery outside, has gotten a refresh for the cabin design.
Instead of art promoting Sonic X Shadow Generations as seen last year, it’s now decked with art from the recently released arcade kart racer Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and the mobile title Sonic Rumble.

The partnership actually goes both ways this year, as the AirAsia logo and the design of the Sonic-liveried AirAsia plane are featured as decals in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Players can brandish the budget airline logo on their Machine should they wish. In the world of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, everyone (that’s racing on the machine that are either car-shaped or a hoverboard) can fly.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch 2. A free demo is available, with progress transferable to the full game.
