Sunset Overdrive Sequel Could Happen, They Just Need The Right Publisher

Insomniac Games’ launch title for the Xbox One, Sunset Overdrive, could see a sequel. They just need to find the right publisher.

Studio founder and CEO Tim Price mentioned this in a Twitch livestream. The radical, in-your-face, comical shooter has its fans, but the developers want to make the sequel something bigger.

“Sunset is something that I know a lot of our fans talk about wanting to see the sequel,” Price said. “We need a partner for that. That’s a big game; Sunset 2 would be a very large-scope game.”

Insomniac were first-party developers for Sony for quite some time. Their break to be an independent third-party developer was not as successful. Thankfully, their deal with Microsoft to make Sunset Overdrive also includes Insomniac retaining ownership of that IP.

Currently, Insomniac is busy with Marvel’s Spider-Man, an open world Spider-Man game exclusive to the PS4.
