Whoops. Earlier today, leaks of new characters for Street Fighter V emerged due to a Steam Store listing. With Evo this weekend, one would presume that this was supposed to be the big reveal at the premier fighting game tournament.
Capcom has now decided to roll with the punches and announced it officially: The fighting game is getting three more new characters.
First up is E. Honda, the last of the original World Warriors from Street Fighter II to make an appearance in the latest entry. He will come out with the Honda Sento stage, which is exactly what you’d expect- a throwback to his stage from SF II.
Next up is new character Lucia. Originally a playable character in Final Fight 3, she now appears as a police officer for the Metro City Police Department. Still donning a pair of short pairs in most of her costumes and now with a rather noticeable New York-or rather, Metro City- accent.
Completing the lineup is another Final Fight alum. Poison, who appeared in Street Fighter X Tekken and then Ultra Street Fighter IV, returns with her signature whip.
Each character is sold seperately as DLC, but can be bought all together in a bundle which includes the battle costume and colours 3-10. The ladies will also have summer costumes, but those are sold separately.
Presumably, this is all the Season 4 characters for Street Fighter V. Unlike past seasons, this season only one character added late last year at Capcom Cup 2018: Kage. It was radio silence on whether or not we’re getting new characters until today.
