Cat platformer Stray now has a release date. As revealed at the June 2022 State Of Play, the game where you play as a feline scampering and exploring a cyberpunk city full of robots is coming next month.
Not only that, those on the new PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tiers will have access to Stray, as it will join the Game Catalog on day-1 of release.
Sony has been hesitant of putting its own first-party releases as a day-1 release on the monthly service subscription. But at least it’s willing to do that for its third-party partners.
It is to be noted that Sony has done this in the past via PS Plus Essential. Furi and Fall Guys are examples of games that were launched on PS4 and were part of the monthly free claimable games. But for Stray, it’s now gone to the higher Extra tier.
Still, the game by BlueTwelve Studio about being an actual orange cat- which some cat videos like to suggest to be the ultimate agent of chaos, allegedly- is close to release, and that’s great news.
Stray releases on July 19 for the PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam.
