Sifu Getting Difficulty Options, Gameplay Modifiers And More As Free Updates

Sloclap’s kung-fu brawler Sifu will be getting a year of post-launch free updates, the developer revealed today.

This will include, amongst others, difficulty options as well as gameplay modifiers.

Sifu’s 2022 content roadmap splits into four seasons. For Spring, expect to see an easier and a harder difficulty option to be made available. A more advanced training mode, plus the ability to choose outfits, will be added as well.

The Spring update is expected to release next week on May 3.

Summer (Q3) will see the introduction of Advanced Scoring breakdown, as well as gameplay modifiers. These can range from making the game harder (no pendants, one healthpoint only, no guard, stronger enemies) or easier (golden staff, all skills unlocked, bullet time).

Fall (Q4) will bring in a replay editor, so you too can shoot your own action movie.

Lastly, Winter (Q1 2023) will bring a new game mode, Arenas.

All of the updates will see new outfits being added to Sifu, for both its male and female main character.

Sifu’s brand of action gameplay is fun, rewarding but also equally punishing and require the player to play at their best. The addition of difficulty options, and modifiers to make the game easier, is much welcomed.

And the fact these options also come with the ability to make the game more difficult for the hardcore players should keep fans happy and playing more of this indie hit.

Sifu is out now on PS4, PS5 and PC (Epic Games Store).
