Sega has officially announced that Shenmue 1 and 2 are being remastered for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Officially renamed as Shenmue I & II, this remaster will have both English and Japanese voiceovers, an updated user interface, a toggle choice for modern or classic controls along with a new physical and digital edition release. The graphics of the game will be scalable but still retains the original look.
“This is the definitive version of these all-time classics and will be the best Shenmue experience to date”,says a sega blurb and by the trailer below, it’s looking good for a work-in-progress. It even has the iconic “voiceovers” from the game’s original dreamcast release!
The game will be releasing sometime in this year, presumably to garner hype for Shenmue 3 coming next year.
