Ixion, the sci-fi city-builder with a strong story hook by Bulwark Studios and publisher Kasedo Games, is now updated with new difficulty options.
This free update, simply called the Difficulty Update, allows players of various experience levels to hop in and navigate the stars in this space opera of a survival city-builder.
There are three main presets in order of difficulty: Journey, Default and Challenge.
Players can also choose the custom difficulty to adjust precisely which aspects they want to ease up on, or which need to be more challenging.
Difficulty options, including the sliders and options in the custom settings, can be tweaked at any time, so feel free to adjust them should you see fit.
Finishing the game on the Challenge difficulty will award players a new achievement. The achievement name, “I Give You The Stars” is an in-game quote from DOLOS AEC’s enigmatic CEO, Vanir Dolos, and was chosen by the game’s community members.
In our review of Ixion, we noted the rather imbalance of pacing and difficulty, where some aspects feel too overwhelming, too much out of your control but then it can flip the other way around.
The game has also since been updated with various game balance changes prior to this Difficulty Update. So there’s a chance that you’re playing a better game than we did when we reviewed it. And that’s always good news- everyone wants to see a game getting better.
Ixion is out now on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
