San Diego Studios Details New Changes Coming To MLB The Show 25

With the off-season for America’s pastime now truly underway, Sony’s San Diego Studio, the folks who have been working in the MLB The Show stage for almost two decades now, has revealed some new details for their upcoming games that’s coming next year, especially for the multiplayer component.

This new edition will be including tweaks to their Ultimate Team esque mode called Diamond Dynasty, where past and present baseball players (dressed up in seasonal cards) gotten by the users, duke it out on the pitch in a seasonal PVE mode or PVP. But, there is a catch though, as those players will only last until a certain season week (say, the World Series Finals) end date and you will not be able to use that player cards, ever.

That changes for the next game, as it goes back to its old “usable card at all time” system that the game had been using before this past two titles. In fact, an upcoming update will make all of the cards usable on Diamond Dynasty for this year’s MLB The Show 24, as a “thank you” for the communities reaching out to give feedback.

It’s a welcome change from what I’ve seen with my brief time with the series, and that’s doesn’t stop there, San Diego Studios is also bringing new stuff to their underratedly good “Road To The Show” and Franchise modes with plans to “deepen the player’s journey before the draft” and “better trade evaluation metrics and off-seasons” being talked about in their blogpost, respectively.

With all of that said, no release date have been mentioned or the platforms that its set to release, but expect MLB The Show 25 to launch sometime next year.
