A slim gaming laptop is possible. But what if it’s also usable for folks in the creative industry or more serious content creators? ASUS ROG is answering that with the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15.
As the name implies, it has two screens. One main 15.6″ screen, and another auxiliary 14.09” screen (ScreenPad) sitting above the keyboard area. Remember the empty space on slim gaming laptops because of cooling reasons? Rather than slap some RGB on it last time, ROG picked a trick from the mainline ASUS brand laptops and bring a second screen.
Don’t worry about cooling, though. ROG’s Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) has been upped to be AAS Plus. Before, it’s part of the chassis that expands to provide more cooling room. Now, even that second screen is lifted too, up to 13 degrees. ROG promises that the Zephyrus Duo 15 should not be heating too much. From liquid metal thermal compound, to more blades (83) per cooling fan.
While the main use of the second screen (that’s also a touchscreen) is useful for content creation, ROG is working with various developers to provide special additions using the screen. One confirmed is Techland, for the upcoming Dying Light 2. Thanks to a collaboration with Overwolf, you can also download special apps that can give real-time stats for games like Fortnite, League Of Legends and CS:GO.
For creative types, alongside the second screen, you can get a 4K display instead of a 300Hz panel geared for gamers. Both screens are Pantone calibrated, so colours are accurate, and G-Sync support.

Here are the specs for the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15:
