Redfall’s latest, and possibly last, update has arrived. Game Update 4 brings the much-requested feature that is offline mode, as well as a revamp to the open world mechanics.
After this update, unlocking new Safehouses, completing Safehouse missions, saving civilians or killing underbosses earns you reputation, and by filling up the Community Standing Bar, you’ll be unlocking new buffs to help you take down the vampires.
The Nests have been revamped with the addition of Elder Nests. These are tougher fights.
After this update, players can safely play the game with spotty internet connection. When playing single-player, the game can still be continued when internet connection is gone. When in multiplayer, the hosts continues the game as a solo offline session. Also, the game pauses when you’re playing solo.
Redfall also some changes to enemy encounters in Redfall Commons, enemy AI (it was laughably bad at launch, so good to know it has been worked on), Story Mode difficulty and one new weapon.
This is possibly the last update we see for Redfall, as developer Arkane Austin has been closed down. There is no patch notes for the update other than some key features mentioned in the update announcement, but there’s also one final note from the development team:
“We’re thankful for the millions of players who have joined us. From everyone at Arkane Austin, thank you for playing our games and loving our worlds, it’s been an honor to deliver these experiences to you.”
Redfall is out now on Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam, Microsoft Store).
