Red Dead Redemption II On PC’s Required Specs, New Features And Content Detailed

Rockstar announced that 2018’s hit game Red Dead Redemption II is coming to PC this November. And now more details has been shown on what to expect with the PC release.

For one thing, on the graphics side expect a big upgrade. Higher draw distances, higher-quality global illumination, better snow trails, and improved reflections, shadows and textures are among what to expect. Rockstar also confirms HDR support, resolution up to 4K and beyond, multi-monitor configurations, widescreen configurations and most importantly, faster frame rate. Rockstar teases a new trailer for the game will be out soon, running at 4K and 60fps.

As for the PC specs, it’s surprisingly not demanding on the CPU and GPU side. Though RAM and storage requirements are pretty high.

  • GPU:  Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB

As for the new content for the story mode, it’s not that significant but it is something. There will be 3 new bounty hunter missions, 2 new Gang Hideouts to clear at Gaptooth Breach and Solomon’s Folly, and 2 new treasure maps.

Four new weapons are added to the story mode, though three of the latter in the list has been made available in Red Dead Online:

  • M1899 Pistol
  • Evans Repeater
  • High Roller Revolver
  • Le Mat Revolver

There are also four new horses added, two of the latter appeared first in Red Dead Online:

  • Warped Brindle Arabian
  • Few Spot Appaloosa
  • Perlino Andalusian
  • Red Chestnut Arabian

And there are also three new variations for wild horses: the Buttermilk Buckskin Kentucky Saddler, Liver Chestnut Morgan, and Gold Palomino Tennessee Walker.

Lastly, there five new trinkets you can equip, with new buffs:

  • Hawk Talon – permanently decreases Stamina bar drain speed by 30% when drawing a bow
  • Cat Eye – permanently increases the length of Fortifying tonic effects by 20%
  • Shark Tooth – permanently increases horse bonding experience bonus by 10%
  • Turtle Shell – permanently increases health bar refill speed by 10%
  • Crow Beak – permanently increases looted ammo by 10%

Red Dead Redemption II on PC will be out on November 5th on the Rockstar Launcher and Epic Games Store, with a release on Steam later this December.
