Razer is giving a refresh to its DeathAdder And Basilisk gaming mice. The DeathAdder V2 looks a lot like the solid original, but the V2 here is all the hardware inside.
New to the Razer DeathAdder V2 is the use of Razer’s Optical Mouse Switches. It uses an infrared light beam instead of regular switches, which Razer says will help reduce unintended double-clicks. The Optical Mouse Switches are also faster in response and durable- it can handle over 70 million clicks.
The other change is the use of the Speedflex Cable. The wired mouse should have less friction on the cable when you flick it around.
The DeathAdder V2 sports 8 programmable buttons, all customisable via the Razer Synapse 3 app, with the ability to make macros, a secondary function when you click a mouse button plus a shift key (HyperShift), can store up to 5 different profile of settings and Razer Chroma RGB support.
It also has 20,000 DPI, with slightly more ergonomic design and weighs only 82g.
The Razer Basilisk V2 meanwhile is the heavier duty of the two. It has a bit more features but also got the same upgrades seen in the DeathAdder V2- new Optical Mouse Switches and Speeflex Cable. The Basilisk V2 has 11 programmable buttons, and also custom scroll wheel distance- make the scroll wheel as heavy or as light as you like.
The heavier duty Basilisk V2 is also not that heavy. 92g, just 10g heavier than the DeathAdder V2.
The Razer DeathAdder V2 is priced at RM349 while the Razer Basilisk V2 at RM390. Expect to see these gaming mice at select retailers in Malaysia starting January 20th. They are also available online.
