Rainbow Six Extraction New Trailer Gives An Overview Of Its Gameplay

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is taking a lot longer than expected to arrive, but here’s something to get you still interested in this 3-player co-op tactical shooter.

The previous gameplay trailer back at E3 gives a glimpse of the moment-to-moment gameplay. This new one is more on the bigger picture. Including precise numbers of what content is coming on launch.

As part of Rainbow’s REACT team, you (either solo or with two other players as a three-player team) will be venturing into 12 different maps spread across 4 different regions of the USA. These maps are bigger than the ones seen in Rainbow Six Siege (three times bigger, roughly speaking) and will have dynamic modifiers, so expect variations in your encounters.

Rainbow Six Extraction will include 18 operators- all of which are familiar faces from Siege. Unless you own Siege (which unlocks all the operators out of the box), you’ll need to progress by banking XP to unlock more operators (plus their gear, weapons and abilities), new customisation items, more levels, higher difficulty levels and new REACT gadgets.

REACT gadgets are new, specifically to combat the Archæans aliens, your main baddie in Extraction.

You only earn XP if you extract each team member out of the level. So there’s a risk-reward mechanic of pushing further for more XP and rewards but risking having an operator MIA. If they went MIA, you can go back to rescue them and bring back all the gear and progress they earned.

Interestingly, there will be a ranked competitive mode as well.
