If you’re playing Ubisoft’s co-op tactical shooter Rainbow Six Extraction, there’s a new limited-time event, Crisis Event as the game calls it, currently running until June 2.
Nightmare Fog will see missions where a fog of toxins will appear through the Containment Zone. This fog increases your neurotoxin level which, after being exposed to a certain level, will inflict psychedelic effects on the operators you’re playing as. These effects include enemy hallucinations, vision disruption and damage.
You’ll need to find a Neurotism supply case found in the maps to temporarily reduce your Neuorotoxin level, and it’s in limited supply as well available on each sub-map.
Alongside the new challenge from the titular fog, the Nightmare Fog also arrives with the following content additions:
- Ten New Prestige progression levels
- New Protean Vigil enemy
- New REACT Rush Pistol
- Five new Crisis Studies
- Themed Charms for players to keep
- Extra XP towards Milestone Progression
Rainbow Six Extraction was released to a low-key reaction earlier this year. The game’s fine, as we’ve concluded in our review, but it’s one of those games that you’ll be better off getting a group of friends to really enjoy it.
Ubisoft is still committed to releasing more content updates similar to Nightmare Fog in the future.
Rainbow Six Extraction is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also currently available on Xbox Game Pass (console, PC).
