An online listing of Walmart Canada might have just leaked the biggest new game sequels to be announced soon. Among them were Rage 2. Rage was the FPS game by id Software, of Doom and Quake fame, that has a post apocalypse setting and a more open structure compared to the developers’ more linear games before. It did not garner much fanfare, but Bethesda never ruled out a potential sequel.
But rather than stay quiet, apparently the official Twitter account for Rage, which has been dormant for years, has something to say.

Rather than denying that this is real, the tweet poked fun of how the box art is incorrect, even as a temporary box art. This is now the only tweet on the account, and the image is now both the icon and the cover of the profile at the time of writing. Bethesda’s account, as well as Bethesda’s VP Pete Hines, also replied to the tweet.
In another quoted tweet, Hines wrote “this is why we can’t have nice things.”

This lends more credence that Rage 2 may be indeed be real- they would have outright deny the leaks if it is not at this rate. Yet there is no official announcement outside of the banter either. Basically, they are neither confirming nor denying Rage 2 at this time.
Bethesda will be holding its regular E3 presentation this year, so expect to see it be possibly confirmed at the event.
