OK, games where you drive cars and has a track editor is something you might have heard before. But what about a game where you drive cars while the track is being built? At the same time?
Can’t Drive This, from the 6-person indie team at Pixel Maniacs, is exactly that. One person drives the car (or rather, a monster truck to be precise). The other has to built a track to help them reach the goal.
Drive too slow and the car explodes. So you have to keep moving.
And the track pieces can mess with your driver. Expect giant fans, round domes and sunken dirt that throws the car off-balance, and smoke and water that obfuscates the driver’s view as track pieces.
This is a co-op game, but it’s possible to turn it into a competitive game by just bullying the driver with needlessly complicated tracks. Should be fun with a friend, or three.
Can’t Drive This includes split-screen co-op up to four players as well as online play (for 2 players). It has been on Steam Early Access since 2016, but now it’s ready for a full launch not only on PC but on consoles as well. There is cross-play for PS4 and PS5 players
Can’t Drive This leaves Steam Early Access and releases on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on March 19.
