PS5 And Xbox Series Versions Of GTA V Delayed To March 2022

Grand Theft Auto V, and its accompanying multiplayer mode Grand Theft Auto Online, was supposed to make its next-gen debut this November.

It looks like that won’t be the case as Rockstar Games announced that GTA V and GTA Online (which will be getting a standalone version) are delayed “for polishing and fine-tuning”.

Despite the delay, the GTA$1,000,000 each month promo for PlayStation Plus players will still be available until GTA Online launches in March 2022. PS5 players can also claim the standalone GTA Online game free for the first three months after launch.

A new trailer popped up on the 2021 PlayStation Showcase but it’s hard to tell where the improved graphics are, it looks like regular GTA V. The only easily discerned improvement is the loading times. Character switching is much snappier than the PS4/Xbox One, and the PS3/Xbox 360 versions before that.

The little hommage to the original gameplay breakdown trailer where GTA Online is teased in the end is a nice touch, however. Compared to the original video to the current state of GTA Online now with playable arcade machines and flying cars, it’s much, much different these days.

Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will now be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime in March 2022.
