Previously Delayed Denshattack! Now On Track For July Release

Denshattack!, the wild-looking game where you drive a train like it’s a skateboard, didn’t actually made it to its previously advertised release date. Like a regular train ride in Malaysia, the inevitable happened: it got delayed.

The news was dropped in early June, during the busy month of summer video game showcases. Denshattack! didn’t release on time on June 17.

The good news is, publisher Fireshrine Game and developer Undercoders have now announced that everything is on track, Denshattack! will be out on July 15 as scheduled.

Denshattack! sees players compete to be the best train driver in Japan by doing over-the-top train battles. The gameplay is a mix of high-speed platforming (like the 3D Sonic The Hedgehog titles where you go really, really fast but with enough branching paths that adds replayability) and also like skateboarding games because you actually do skateboarding style moves using the analog stick. Yes, you do kickflip the whole train.

If you don’t mind some spoiler, the first boss fight of Denshattack! is also revealed, featuring a fight against a mecha created by combining multiple trains as piloted by a gyaru girlboss.

That sentence alone should sell you on what Denshattack!, but if you need to see how the heck do you even have a boss fight in a game where you are literally a train that moves on-rails that somehow does skateboarding tricks, this five minutes worth of gameplay footage should give you a good glimpse to the madness.

Denshattack! also features a soundtrack featuring a who’s who list of musical contributors, led by main composer Tee Lopes (Sonic Mania, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge). The contributoring composers includes Ryo Nagamatsu (Splatoon series, Mario Kart Series), Richard Jacques (Jet Set Radio series, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy), and even “Japan’s finest singing salaryman” Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Daytona USA, Sega Rally Championship), to name a few.

Denshattack! releases on July 15 for the PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. A demo is available on Steam and Switch 2.
