Publisher of indie games Playtonic Friends will be publishing Victory Heat Rally, an arcade racer developed by SkyDevilPalm.
First revealed in the Nintendo Life Indie Spotlight around a year ago, Victory Heat Rally is bringing back a specific kind of arcade racer- the Super Scaler- where games used 2D sprites to fake 3D graphics as popularised by the likes of Hang On, OutRun and more.
As you can see in the new trailer, it has that familiar on-screen effect (don’t stare at the roads that are closest to the screen too long) as you drive cars and drift around corners in crazy angles that even the camera angle tilts along. It’s frenetic, but charming as well thanks to its bright colour palette and cute car and character designs.
Victory Heat Rally is targeting a full release on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch in 2022. You can try out Victory Heat Rally on PC with a demo as part of Steam Next Fest from October 1-7.
