Persona 5 Scramble is a spin-off title for Persona 5. Where Persona 4 gets a fighting game spin-off, P5 gets a Musou (Dynasty Warriors-like) one instead. But spin-off seems to be the wrong term here, it looks like.
The second preview trailer for P5S showcases the Phantom Thieves in action. Joker and the rest of the crew are playable, with an additional new character. Like a Musou game, the action can go on the streets with many enemies filling the screen. Stealth and vehicles play a part in the game, and possibly the series classic Persona fusions are coming.
Plus, the plot takes place months after the events of the original game. And the logo reveal at the end of the trailer sneakily slips in a 2 before the S takes over, implying that this is more of direct sequel than just another spin-off title. Persona 5 Royal, for instance, feels like an expansion that expands the original game’s story and content, while Scramble continues it.
Persona 5 Scramble will be out in Japan on February 2nd for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with an English release coming soon.
