People Can Fly Owns The Bulletstorm IP And Are Open To Making A Sequel

But it's not in the works yet

If you are a fan of the overly bombastic skill-based FPS Bulletstorm, there’s a good news. Developers People Can Fly are open to making a sequel, and they own the IP.

An interview by Eurogamer with People Can Fly CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski has confirmed this. “We are, as you can see [with the remaster and the Switch version], still holding this IP deep in our hearts,” he said, in reference to Bulletstorm: Full Clip, the remaster released on PS4 and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch port coming later this August.

“We want this IP to have its second life. We’re still not sure what that means but obviously since this is our IP – we own the IP – and the IP is known and has its fans, we would like to do something about it.”

While the interest is there from the developer side, a new Bulletstorm is not in active development, not anytime soon. The developers are currently busy with Outriders, a new shooter published by Square Enix, as revealed at E3.

There’s also the issue on whether there is still fan interest.

“We just need to think about how to make sure the audience will be bigger than [Bulletstorm 1’s] and that’s something we would need to work a bit more on going forward with this IP,” Wojciechowski said.

“If we decide to ever come back to it!” he continued, with a heavy emphasis of “if”.

So there is a possibility for a new Bulletstorm, but it’s not in the cards just yet. Unless we really, really make them notice there’s a strong demand for sequel to the shooter.
