All The Game Announcements From Square Enix E3 2019 Showcase

Last year’s Square Enix E3 Showcase was… something. But this year it’s genuinely good.

This year, the showcase is a live press conference rather than just a Direct-style video. Both the Western arm and their core Japanese side of the publisher have a lot to show. And what they show is good, for the most part

Final Fantasy VII Remake

A bunch of detail about the Final Fantasy VII Remake has been shown. The combat system has been broken down, a bit like Final Fantasy XV’s direct-button combat but a better implementation of character switching (seen in later updates of XV) and pausing. The ATB and Materia is still present in a different form.

Bikes, Tifa and the first big boss fight was shown off throughout the presentation.

FVII Remake will be out on March 3rd, 2020 exclusively on the PS4. Pre-orders are now available and will be priced at RM229 for digital, with no word on price for a physical copy just yet.

Life Is Strange 2

A reminder that Life Is Strange 2, the episodic narrative experience, is still ongoing.

Final Fantasy Crytal Chronicle Remastered Edition

A new trailer for the remaster of the co-op action RPG first debuted on the Gamecube. You can party up to four players, local or online, and hopefully, someone will carry the bucket around.

The game is coming out this winter on PS4, Switch as well as iOS and Android.

Octopath Traveller

A reminder that the RPG that was a Switch-exclusive is now available on Pc via Steam.

The Last Remnant Remastered

A nice surprise. The Last Remnant Remastered is out now on Switch.

Dragon Quest Builders 2

A new trailer showcasing the game mechanics of this Minecraft-meets-Dragon Quest JRPG.

We do know that the game is coming to PS4 and Switch this July.

Dragon Quest XI S

The Switch version of Dragon Quest XI is coming out this Fall. Interestingly, you can play the game with entirely spirte-based graphics like the 3DS version.

Circuit Superstars

What if top-down racing like Micro Machines have sim-style handling physics? A new indie game by Original Fire Games under the Square Enix Collective. And you know it’s serious racing because you have to make pit stop strategies.

It will be out in 2020 for the PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Switch.

Battalion 1944

Another Square Enix Collective title, this is a 5V5 FPS set in WWII, giving it a classic Battlefield vibe. It is out now on Steam.

Square Enix Music

A bunch of Final Fantasy music is now available on various streaming platforms. This was spotted and reported earlier, but good to see an official announcement.

Kingdom Hearts III: ReMind

A new DLC is coming to Kingdom Hearts III, scheduled for release this winter.

Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers

Producer Naoki Yoshida was on stage to highlight the new Shadowbringers expansion to the MMO Final Fantasy XIV. A new launch trailer was shown.

Shadowbringers will be out on July 2nd.

Dying Light 2

Despite a second showing on an E3 stage, this adds nothing to the new release date and playable character reveal at Xbox’s.

Romancing SaGa 3 and SaGa Scarlett Grace Ambitions

Two games that never got a Western release finally got one.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

War Of The Visions- Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is now in development. The new mobile game is a tactical RPG, separate from Brave Exvius.

Developed by People Can Fly, the folks behind Gears Of War Judgement and Bulletstorm. The game was teased before E3, and for now, we learned that the game is at least a shooter. And may have a character creator. And some nasty looking monsters to shoot.

It will be out in Summer 2020.

New lore trailer for Tokyo RPG Factory’s new game. It also now has a release date: August 22nd on PS4, PC (Steam) and Switch.

Final Fantasy VIII Remaster

No, they haven’t forgotten about FFVIII. A remaster, or rather a re-release, is coming to PS4, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch this year.

Marvel’s Avengers

The big Marvel game by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal is here.

While there is a focus on a cinematic experience, but it is also a live game. It is confirmed that new heroes and regions are going to be added for free, with no loot boxes and pay-to-win mechanics. Five superheroes are revealed on launch- Captian America, Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow. The game can be played co-op up to four players. Sounds like a Warframe competitior more than Destiny, since you are unlocking specific characters rather than making your own.

it will be out on May 15th, 2020 to PS4, PC, Xbox One and Google Stadia.
