Overwatch Heroes Rumble Announced, Four Asia Pacific Teams Versus The World

While Overwatch League is gearing up and its feeder series Overwatch Contenders are expanding to Australia and South Africa, the Blizzard is also doing something for the Asia-Pacific. The Overwatch Heroes Rumble is an exhibition tournament that will see four team captains from the Overwatch Pacific Championship (OPC) forming teams to compete against four teams led by Overwatch esports figures from the rest of the world.

The captains participating from the OPC are:

  • Sheng-Peng “DCrown” Luo of Machi Esports, Taiwan
  • Mao-Chun “KMoMo” Hsu of Fkash Wolves, Taiwan
  • Kin-Long “ManGoJai” Wong of Hong Kong Attitude
  • Ashley “Trill” Powell of Blank Esports, Australia

The guest captains representing the rest of the world are:

  • Dylan “aKm” Bignet from France
  • Brian “Kephrii” St. Pierre from USA
  • Liam “Mangachu” Campbell from Canada
  • Joonas “zappis” Alakurtti from Finland

The Overwatch Heroes Rumble takes place across three days in a single elimination format. Outside of the traditional 6v6, arcade modes such as Team Deathmatch, Elimination and 1v1 Duels will be played as well.

This exhibition tournament will start on December 15, 12AM PST (4PM Malaysian Time, +8 GMT) and takes place at Blizzard Estadium in Taipei. Tickets are being sold for those who wish to attend in person, and all games will be livestreamed though Blizzard Taiwan.
