Onimusha, the long-dormant series of feudal Japan but with demons by Capcom, is making a revival. The first game, Onimusha Warlords, will get the remaster treatment for all the consoles, including Switch, and PC.
Originally conceived as a Resident Evil spin-off, the survival horror roots can be felt through the fixed camera angles, demons that are basically this game’s zombies and a castle in place of a mansion. You play as samurai Samanosuke Akechi and Kaede the ninja on a mission to save Princess Yuki from a demon attack in her castle.
The remaster will offer widescreen support (though some menus maintain its original 4:3 screen ratio), analog controls for movement and Easy Mode unlocked from the start. A new soundtrack and a new recording of all the Japanese voices will also be available.
Onimusha Warlords will be out on January 15th, 2019 for the PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
