Mohawk Games and Hooded Horse have announced a new expansion for the 4X strategy game Old World, as well as a release date for the PC game on Steam and GOG.
The game will also be adding Linux support on the same date, as well as localisation to Japanese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Russian, German, French, and Spanish.
Released last year as an Epic Games Store timed exclusive, Old World is set to release this May for Steam and GOG, and it will arrive alongside the game’s first expansion, Heroes Of The Aegean.
Players who purchase the game in the first two weeks of Old World’s release will get the expansion for free.
Heroes Of The Aegean includes six historical scenarios. Players get to play as Ancient Greece’s famous generals and leaders like Leonidas and Alexander The Great.
Old World gives a new spin to the historical 4X strategy genre in a lot of ways. You play as characters, which can grow old, gain heirs and build or break relationships similar to how the Crusader Kings series. The way you spend your turn and how you do diplomacy are different to something like Civilization or Humankind, which gives this 4X game focusing on the classical age a very different feel from other games in the genre, in a good, refreshing way.
Old World for Steam and GOG, and the Heroes Of The Aegean expansion will be released on May 19. The game is out now on the Epic Games Store.
