Old-School FPS Ion Fury (Previously Ion Maiden) Out Now

If you like your FPS the old-fashion way, specifically like Duke Nukem 3D, good news- there’s a new game doing exactly that. Ion Fury (previously Ion Maiden) is now out of Steam Early Acess.

Published by 3D Realms and 1C Entertainment and developed by Voidpoint, Ion Fury is built entirely on the… Build Engine, the same one that powered Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and Shadow Warrior. Expect enemies to explode in gibs with levels filled with hidden secrets for the explorer in you. But it’s not overtly faithful as it adds some modern features like headshots and auto-saves.

Interestingly, Ion Fury comes with a map editor that can import other Build Engine maps, including from existing games like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood and Shadow Warrior. Custom-made maps can be shared on the Steam Workshop.

Ion Fury is out now on Steam for RM44, and will come to the PS4, Xbox One and Switch soon.
