Octopath Traveler II Gets A Demo On PlayStation, PC, Switch

Square Enix announced a demo for its upcoming RPG Octopath Traveler II, available now to download.

The Octopath Traveler II Prologue Demo lets you play the first part of the story, up to 3 hours of game time. And yes, you can choose any of the eight protagonists to try out.

As usually goes for a Square Enix demo, progress made in the Prologue demo can be carried over to the main game.

The demo is available on PS4, PS5 and Switch today. The PC version on Steam should have the demo up tomorrow, February 10.

Developed by Acquire Corp. and Team Asano, Octopath Traveler II will see eight travellers in the new world of Solistia journeying for adventure. The first game, a Switch exclusive on release, made its mark by its interesting “HD-2D” graphics (a blend of pixel art and landscapes in a 3D space) as well as having eight different starting points by way of having eight different protagonists, all with their own origin story. It offers systems that you mostly see in a western RPG (multiple ways to interact with NPCs, the freedom to explore anywhere) in a JRPG wrap.

The first Octopath Traveler sold more than 3 million copies as of August 2022.

Octopath Traveler II will be out on February 24 for the PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch with the PC version on Steam to follow on February 25.
