No Single Player Campaign In Call Of Duty Black Ops 4, Will Feature A Battle Royale Mode

Call Of Duty 4 Black Ops 4 multiplayer reveal event has shed light on a lot of ongoing rumours and speculations of whether the game might not have a single player campaign and feature a battle royale mode. And indeed, those rumours are true.

At the end of the presentation of the event, developers Treyarch has confirmed that “no traditional campaign” will be available. Instead, they are looking at delivering the narrative experience within the multiplayer mode and Zombies.

Treyarch and Activision must have been betting that the new battle royale mode will be a good replacement, which was revealed at the event. Called Blackout, it is indeed a battle royale, featuring the biggest map for a Call Of Duty game that combines all the familiar locales and setpieces seen throughout the series. You can control vehicles-land, sea and air- and expect the same level of tight controls seen in other game modes.

Would a battle royale mode in one of the most successful FPS series compete with the likes of Fortnite and PUBG? Time will tell.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 will be out on October 26th for the PS4, PC (exclusive to Battle.net this time) and Xbox One.
