Nintendo Brings Famicom Detective Club Back, With English Release In May

Nintendo has bought back to life one of it’s original IP for the Nintendo Switch.

Famicom Detective Club is one of the first adventure games produced by Nintendo during the early era of the Famicom, and follows a similar designs to PC adventure games of that period. It was originally a Japan-only game before this announcement of these remakes.

This marks the first time the series is in English officially, with both The Missing Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind being a shot-by-shot remake of it’s original counterpart.

It is going to be quite interesting to see how this game holds up, but with the expertise of Mages (creators of the Steins;Gate visual novels), I’d say it is in good hands.

Both Famicom Detective Club games will launch on 14 May for the Nintendo Switch.
