Did you know, that every September the community around Spyro The Dragon celebrates Spyro Community Day? So on September 9 this year, the same date the original Spyro The Dragon released back in 1998, the Spyro The Dragon caretakers at Activision shared a special Happy Birthday video, featuring a burning cake.
What lies under the cake is a whole new in-game render of Spyro The Dragon and a peek of other characters one would see in his upcoming new adventure, Spyro: A Realm Beyond. While the CG teaser has some noticeable changes to the little purple dragon with millions of fans (based on the reception of the initial reveal trailer), the in-game render looks like good ol’ Spyro.
New concept art of one of the early regions in Spyro: A Realm Beyond will look like. Called Arcadian Vale, it has this azure and emerald feel to it, with overgrown moss, aged in stone ruins and keeps. It’s a magical world that at least in the two concept artwork shown, looks like what you’d expect from a Spyro game that follow up the first trilogy of games.

Announced last June, Spyro: A Realm Beyond is being developed by Toys For Bob. The developer was previously under Activision, and as such were part of the bigger Xbox group.
The team is now independent, but are back to work on one of the mascot platformers they revived through a stellar remake, without the pressure of having to incorporate toys-to-life elements.
This is also the same team the remade Crash Bandicoot and made a second fourth game in the series.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond has no release date yet, but it will be out sometime in Spring (March-May) 2027.
