Sega and Atlus have released a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, the new (and now multi-platform) version of Shin Megami Tensei V.
The trailer gives a good look at the new dungeon Shakan as well as new demons added specifically for Vengeance. Also, Nahobino (i.e. the player character) also has new forms. If the long blue hair isn’t striking enough, they have different drips now. And is that Jack Frost in Nahobino form?
In addition, Sega has updated the game’s website for Asia with links to pre-ordering the game, which are now available again on all platforms. This was done due to the game recently moving its release day by a week early, which meant some platforms like the Nintendo e-Shop having to cancel and refund the pre-order.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is a new, updated release of 2021 Switch-exclusive RPG. Vengeance will feature new content as well as gameplay tweaks, including a whole new route which doubles the playtime of the game from 80 to 160 hours.
While most publishers would go and make updates, expansions and DLCs for the existing version of games, Atlus is keeping it old-school by doing these re-releases.
Shin Megami Tensei is the genesis of many Atlus RPGs- Persona and Soul Hackers were originally SMT spin-offs. Though SMT goes harder on demonic vibes. You can see it from the demon designs, the tone and even the soundtrack just from this new trailer.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is releasing on June 14 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Windows), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
