Atlus has released a small bit of free DLC to the recently released Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army. This is the new remaster of the 2006 game Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha VS. The Soulless Army.
The free DLC is a selection of titles, epithets you can equip for protagonist Raidou Kuzunoha XIV. These are entirely cosmetic, and something you can gain as you progress through the game naturally.
But the 10 new titles here are all picked by the community during a pre-release social media contest. And you can tell by the titles, these are definitely bourne out of the larger Shin Megami Tensei and MegaTen community with cute references from various spin-offs, from Persona (AceDetective) to SMT (Demi Friend), even Devil Summoner, which Raidou is a spin-off of. And it reflects the way how the English version of these games are localised too, with one being a pun Jack Frost would be proud of.
The Demonic Designations: Summoner Titles DLC adds the following 10 titles. You can equip one of them to be displayed in the stats screen.
- Hee Homie
- AceDetective
- Demi Friend
- Devil Buster
- Megatennist
- Aura Demon
- Kyouji
- Dancing With Devils
- The Wizard Of Taisho
- The Demon Detective
The Demonic Designations: Summoner Titles DLC is free, but since it’s DLC it won’t be added automatically in an update. You have to go the PS Store/Microsoft Store/Steam/Nintendo eShop to claim and download the DLC.
Soundtrack For Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha VS. King Abaddon Now Available To Stream
Curiously, Atlus also has released the music of the 2008 sequel Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha VS. King Abaddon, to celebrate the release of Raidou Remastered. This soundtrack has been remastered for its release on modern streaming services.
Raidou Remastered borrows the action-RPG gameplay introduced in Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha VS. King Abaddon. Of the two Raidou games, the latter is much more beloved, so it won’t be a surprise should Raidou Remastered 2 will be a thing sooner or later.
And this series pretty much deserves a remaster. Our impressions of the game, from a person that didn’t play the original, find it a compelling action-RPG.
Raidou Remastered: The Mystery Of The Soulless Army is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
