Need For Speed Heat Adding Steering Wheel Support And Chat Wheel, New Cars Coming In Next Update

Need For Speed Heat is still getting some content. But later this month is a light update on that. A new Under The Hood blog post reveals two features coming to the January update.

The first is steering wheel support. Sure it’s an arcade game but there are were steering wheel support for the past few Need For Speed titles. For those that do use one, here are the list of compatible steering wheels:

  • Thrustmaster T300RS (PS4, PC)
  • Thrustmaster TX (Xbox, PC)
  • Thrustmaster T150 (PS4, PC)
  • Thrustmaster TMX (Xbox, PC)
  • Logitech G29 (PS4, PC)
  • Logitech G920 (Xbox, PC)
  • Fanatec CSL Elite Racing Wheel (PS4, PC, XB1)

The other is a chat wheel. Think of it like Need For Speed Payback’s emote wheel, or Forza Horizon 4’s chat wheel. This lets you access to quick pre-made messages to quickly communicate with online players with no need for a mic.

Similar to Forza Horizon 4, Need For Speed Heat is adding the ability to pay money to reveal all locations points- that includes collectibles, activities and gas stations.

There will be various quality of life changes coming to the January update, which will be detailed when that drops sometime soon. No exact date and time when it will drop as of now.

As for those looking for more proper content, the blog teased that more cars are coming in at least one more update.

Need For Speed Heat may not have substantial post-launch support, but hey, at least the base game is the best one we have gotten from developers Ghost Games in years.
