My Little Life Is A Life Sim That Occupies Only The Bottom Part Of Your Desktop Screen

Hang on, are we are in some kind of resurgence for desktop toys? Indie developer 9FingerGames upcoming new title, My Little Life, is a life sim but it’s not a fullscreen game. Rather, it only takes over a portion of your desktop screen, the bottom half enough to display two levels of floors for these little folks.

The little folks, have dreams which you can help fulfill. Completing their hopes and dreams awards you Fulfillment Points to spend on 1000+ unique items.

Sounds like The Sims? You bet. My Little Life also requires you to help fulfill the basic needs of these little folks like Hunger, Sleep, Thirst, Hygiene, Joy, Comfort and Bathroom Breaks.

These tiny people can take on different careers. Help them get promoted, earn credits and splurge on furniture.

The full game allows you to expand My Little Life to more than just managing one household. It can grow into a suburb or even a city, filled with many separate apartments all filled with tiny folks.

The main hook of My Little Life is that it only takes a little space on your desktop. So you can have it run while you’re off doing more productive tasks. It’s a bit like a desktop toy, like the recently released Weyrdlets, in that the main interaction isn’t necessarily a fullscreen experience.

My Little Life will have a demo as part of Steam Next Fest. The demo will include the following content:

  • Recruit up to two tiny people
  • Fulfillment points can unlock 100+ items
  • Basic needs to fulfill
  • Two careers (Painter, Streamer)
  • 100+ items
  • Four modes (immersive to low-key)
  • Eight languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional)

9FingerGames is a solo indie development studio founded by Stevis Andrea.

My Little Life has no release date yet, but it’s coming to PC (Steam).
