Bandai Namco has officially announced it has sold over than 2 million copies of Tekken 8 since its first month of launch.
The fighting game sold 1 million units on launch day alone.
The sales of Tekken 8 reaching 2 million in a month also means it is selling faster than Tekken 7 was at launch. Tekken 7 has sold over 11.8 million copies worldwide.
Expect to see Tekken 8 continue to be supported with “content updates, esports events, music and licensing announcements”.
Tekken 8 will receive four DLC characters as part of the Year 1 Pass, the first character being Eddy Gordo. The game will be adding an in-game item shop to purchase customisation items, which includes costumes for characters from past Tekken games.
Tekken 8 will be the game to play on the Tekken World Tour 2024, the official tournament circuit for Tekken where players can compete in various tournaments around the world for points to reach the the finals and earn the rights to be the best Tekken player in the world.
