More New Jobs Revealed For Bravely Default II

Square Enix have shared new details for the JRPG Bravely Default II, which is about to release soon next month.

So far 14 jobs have been revealed, the seven that are returning from the original game are:

  • Freelancer
  • White Mage
  • Black Mage
  • Monk
  • Thief
  • Red Mage
  • Ranger

While seven more are all new for Bravely Default II:

  • Vanguard
  • Bard
  • Beastmaster
  • Gambler
  • Berserker
  • Shieldmaster
  • Pictomaster

Today, Square Enix revealed five more, bringing the total jobs available in Bravely Default II (so far) to 19, and they are:

  • Dragoon
  • Swordmaster
  • Spiritmaster
  • Oracle
  • Salve-Maker

Three of these (Swordmaster, Spiritmaster and Salve-Maker) returns from the original, while the other two are new jobs for the sequel.

Dragoon fights with spears and can leap in the air for their attacks, similar to Dragoons seen in Square’s other JRPG series Final Fantasy.

Oracles are described to be “masters of the esoteric, boasting abilities that allow them to manipulate space and time to their advantage”. Which sounds like a kit similar to a Time Mage, with some differences.

Swordmasters can switch stances and deal more damage with their counter-attacks. Spiritmasters can summon beings which bring buffs and debuffs to battle. Lastly, the all-rounder Salve-Maker can concoct potent items in battle.

As usual, the new jobs will require your party to beat the respective Asterisk Holders.

The Final Demo for Bravely Default II is still available on Nintendo Switch, if you wish to try out the game before release. Bravely Default II releases on February 26, exclusive for the Switch.

UPDATE 10/02/21: Square Enix has since revealed four more jobs, which you can find here.
