Rise up, Monster Hunter fans. The latest entry to the Monster Hunter series, Monster Rise, now has a demo up on the Nintendo eShop.
Rise is a Switch-exclusive entry of Capcom’s highly-successful series, and while not exactly a full new sequel to Monster Hunter World, it still carries over some of the gameplay features from the console/PC game. Like a seamless open map instead of being separated by zones, and a grappling hook-like tool which is called the Wirebug in this game.
Rise also brings in new features, like the ability to bring Palamute -dog-like companions alongside the usual cat-like Palico. And recently revealed in the recent digital event stream, the ability to mount monsters and controlling them- Wyvern Riding.
The demo lets you test out 14 weapons types and try take on four quests that should teach you the ropes of monster hunting. The demo can be played solo are with friends up to four players. Playing the demo will unlock an item pack for Monster Hunter Rise when it releases.
Note that you can only attempt the two main hunts in the demo for 30 times. After that, the demo locks you from any gameplay, even the training quests which don’t count in the 30-time tally.
You can catch the latest digital event stream archive, which reveals new features in the game hub plus new and returning monsters from the franchise, here:
The demo is available right now until February 1, a 1.62GB download. Monster Hunter Rise launches on March 26 for the Nintendo Switch.
