Heal to the beat! Rhythm Doctor is a rhythm game developed by Malaysia-based 7th Beat Games, and it’s now out on Steam Early Access.
You play as a doctor that has to defibrillate patients based on their heartbeat. It’s a one-button game where you have to press that one button to the 7th beat.
And these heartbeat patterns conveniently follow music theory. So expect to see polyrhythms, hemiolas, irregular time signatures and more musical terms you would probably only see being used by music theory YouTubers.
You don’t need to know what they are to play Rhythm Doctor, but by playing the game you’ll be more in tune with these weird rhythm signatures as you face the 20+ hand-crafted levels. You’ll learn them by heart.
Rhythm Doctor includes a storyline with a cast, a level editor, as well as drop-in drop-out co-op multiplayer.
We’ve seen Rhythm Doctor years ago, but it’s great to see it finally on Steam. It’s still in early access, with progress to be made in completing the story and levels, a better level editor and any additional improvements based on player feedback.
You can get it now for RM29.70 (10% off) until March 6, which will then revert to its regular price of RM33.
