Life By You Early Access Delayed Into June

Life By You, Paradox Tectonic’s life sim game, won’t be out in Early Access in March as previously announced. It has been delayed to June.

This is the second delay the game has received. It wa previously targeting a September 2023 release.

In a video announcing the delay, Paradox Tectonic General Manager Rod Humble confirms that the eventual release will still be in Early Access- not a full release- but will be using the extra three months to address some feedback including bugs and performance issues.

The character art will also be improved, and this will continue as the game enters Early Access. The development team are working on supporting different proportions for characters, improved facial animations (“adding more life to the face”), clothes clipping reduction (characters can equip multiple layers of clothing) and more.

Pre-orders will be refunded. All pre-order bonuses will now be available for everyone once the Early Access release goes live.

Those are plenty of improvements needed to be done, as it should. Life By You’s gameplay, as seen so far from the many weekly videos, are still a ways off to really be in contention against the juggernaut that is The Sims. And considering Paradox’s previous published game Cities: Skylines 2 was lacking polish with so many bugs and performance issues, this is much welcomed news.

Life By You will now be releasing in Early Access on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) on June 4.
