This will happen concurrently with the Business Expo, conducted online. Masterclass workshops and a Virtual Career Fair will also be commencing during Level Up KL 2020.
UPDATE 2/10/20: MDEC has announced that Sony and Microsoft will not be speaking at this year’s Level Up KL 2020 Industry Conference. However, it has been confirmed that Steam, Roblox, Larian Studios and Ubisoft Singapore will join Nintendo and Unity as speakers. Original story as follows:
The SEA Game Showcase will be conducted from October 19 to November 15. Expect to see promos, game demos and even special deals from games made in Southeast Asia. The SEA Game Awards also returns as a live stream.
Finally, there will also be Level Up KL: Play Day, which is equivalent to last year’s public show floor.
This sixth edition of Level Up KL, despite the pandemic, is still shaping up to be as feature-packed as previous years. Though event organisers MDEC are optimistic that this situation will contribute more for the event’s reach.
“With the pandemic forcing many to work from the comforts of their homes, we are also witnessing a spike in the popularity of video games that are primarily an at-home type activity,” Surina Shukri, CEO of MDEC.
“Therefore, we are positive that this trend will be reflected in this edition of Level Up KL as we are expecting to reach 5,000,000 people via social media and record 50,000 registered visitors for its first-ever virtualised event.”
