Yesterday, a Reddit post appeared to have leaked Lego 2K Drive, an unannounced new racing/driving game by 2K and Lego. There were some revealing screenshots about game modes, tracks and the many different Lego brick-build cars (no licensed cars though) but all the screenshots have since been taken down.
And it looks like it’s real, now that The Lego Group sort of confirmed the game in this teaser- making fun of the news that it got leaked. 2K also seems to be in on the fun as well judging by the replies under the tweet. Steve’s the fall guy for this, apparently.
But props to both parties for making light of the situation with this short.
The semi-announcement ends with announcing a proper reveal of Lego 2K Drive on March 23, two days from now.
There hasn’t been a proper Lego racing game since the old Lego Racing series back in the PS2 days, though a more recent appearance is the Lego Speed Champions DLC for Forza Horizon 4, released in 2019.
