Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC And Accompanying Free Content Update Comes Out In January

Almost a year after the release of the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts III, Square Enix will be releasing a follow-up DLC. Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind will flesh out a certain part of the main game’s story.

Here’s the synopsis:

“Determined to rescue Kairi, Sora travels to the Keyblade Graveyard a short time before the final battle was to take place. Lacking a corporeal form, he traces the hearts of the seven guardians of light.  Through experiencing their personal battles first-hand, Sora is about to discover truths that he has never before imagined.”

Re Mind also adds new boss battles, a Limitcut and Secret Episode, a new greeting mode, slideshow features and a new “Premium Menu” mode that includes various difficulty settings you can adjust.

More importantly, as the trailer, which officially debuted at the recent Sony State Of Play, showed: Final Fantasy characters are back. The series started with the pitch of Final Fantasy characters crossing over with those from the wonderful world of Disney, though its cast of original characters have more plot relevance as the series developed.

Even if you don’t buy Re Mind, a free update, Update 1.07, will be arrived in January that will add more content. This includes “a main story update”, new abilities, a new form for Sora and the iconic dual Keyblades of Oathkeeper and Oblivion.

You can say that Kingdom Hearts III finally remembered some of its glaring content omissions with the DLC and free update.

Re Mind will be available on January 23rd. For PS4, on PS Store Asia, it will be priced at RM124. A more expensive version at RM159 includes a concert video.

Our review of Kingdom Hearts III states that it’s “not a bad game by any metric, but it seems to make bad decisions at key junctions that stop it from being great.”
