Kingdom Hearts III Has Finished Its Development

Finally

Kingdom Hearts III, the long-in-development action RPG where Disney And Square Enix (mostly Final Fantasy) characters collide, is done.

It has been 13 years since the release of Kingdom Hearts II on the PS2, though the series has seen countless entries on various platforms. The long wait for the numbered sequel, and the end of the Xehanort saga, is almost over, for sure.

The news comes from a tweet by the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter, with a quote attributed to series director Tetsuya Nomura:

I’m proud to unveil an extended version of the trailer that’s been playing in NA cinemas. And guess what? We’ve wrapped up development of III! If you haven’t had the chance yet, now would be a good time to prep by playing 1.5+2.5 & 2.8. See you next month!”

Alongside the announcement is a new trailer, showcasing all of the announced Disney (and Pixar) worlds so far, except Winnie The Pooh’s. Have a look:

Kingdom Hearts III will finally be out on January 29th, 2019 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
