Kaiju Brawler GigaBash Shows New Mini-Game Mode, Limited-Time Demo Coming To PC This Month

Passion Republic Games’ debut title GigaBash is inching closer to release with a new trailer showcase, and you can get your hands on it soon via a free demo for PC.

The new trailer gives us a look at Mayhem mode. This is a series of mini-games available as co-op play. Well, most of them are. Some still have you beat each other up but with comical weapons.

Destroy buildings in Rampage, avoid the lava in Floor Is Lava, beat the boss together in Boss Fight, play a bit of lethal hot potato in Time Bomb, everyone gets a tree to smack each other in Tree Fight while Gun Battles give everyone big guns, and you can chuck kaiju-sized burgers around in Burger Chaos.

Mayhem Mode supports up to 4 players local co-op (couch co-op), and is designed to be “easy to pick up, fun to watch, and more fun to play”. This is the mode to bust out when bringing in newcomers who may not have played GigaBash before, or folks who don’t usually play video games.

You can think of Mayhem mode as a party mode in this way. Some might call it a bash.

GigaBash PC Demo

GigaBash is also getting a demo for PC. It will be available both on Steam (as part of Steam Next Fest: February 21-28) and on Epic Games Store. Online play is enabled and there is cross-play between Steam and Epic.

Here are the modes available in the upcoming GigaBash demo:

  • Free-For-All
  • Teamplay
  • Duel
  • AI battles (versus CPU)
  • Couch Play
  • Online Mode

In addition, Passion Republic Games will host 2 live streams on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest. You can catch the devs on the main stream on the following date and time:

  • Day 1: Let’s Hang Out with the Devs! February 21, 9PM PST (February 22, 1PM Malaysia Time +8 GMT)
  • Day 3: Tournament: Duel of Devs, February 23, 9PM PST

GigaBash brings monsters of all kinds into a brawl up to four players. Inspired by the likes of Super Smash Bros., Power Stone, and War Of The Monsters, players battle it out in destructible environments like it’s a fight in kaiju movies.

GigaBash will be available on PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) sometime this year.
